To maintain and extend the life of your braided Marines– Water and sun resistance,
Recommended upkeep instructions:
- Rinse your pair of sandals in clear water after using them in seawater
-You can wash your pair of sandals in the washing machine at 0° or 15° (place them in a net washing bag to protect the drum on your washing machine), although we prefer submersion in a basin of warm water and washing using soap and a very soft brush which will not harm the fibre of your braiding
- The soles of your Marines can be damaged by prolonged exposure to excessive heat. Therefore avoid allowing your pair of sandals to dry under a powerful heat source (bright sunlight for example) in order to preserve the glue used to assemble the sandal.
Usage instructions:
-Always put on your Marines by slipping the front straps on your foot. Once the straps are adjusted to the instep and your foot is positioned properly at the front end of the sole, you can draw on the strap situated behind the heel. - -This method of putting the sandals on, which may seem a little strange at first, will no longer pose any problems once the braiding has settled in and will enable you to ensure that your Marines snugly embrace your foot every time.
- The flexible but non-elastic materials used in the production of our braiding are ergonomic and will adapt to the shape of your feet. It is therefore very important to keep your pair of Marines for your own use and avoid lending them to anyone with a larger foot than yours (except in the case of special fully adjustable models).
Care and upkeep of your Antiks – Combination of Leather and Polyester Braiding,
Upkeep instructions:
- Leather straps: we recommend that you use a suitable waterproofing spray to protect the suppleness of the leather and to avoid major stains caused by contact with water (you should never waterproof damp sandals and the waterproofing should be repeated regularly).
- Polyester braiding: the combination of the braiding and the leather straps mean that you cannot entirely submerge the sandal in water. We therefore recommend that you clean the polyester fibre with soap and a very soft brush which will not damage the fibre of your braiding.
If your sandals or shoes have been in contact with water, you should let them dry away from powerful heat sources in order to preserve the suppleness of the leather and the glues used for assembly.
